Only one family made it all the way up to Connecticut for a national on July 24-25th 2010. Walter O'Brien and the Team Manager Jean made it to this race and it was fun going to a race in the northeast again and seeing old friends. However between the extremely hot weather and the traffic I really missed racing in Florida. It was 99 degrees and was so humid, it felt like a sauna. The track was really nice and location was great. Each class was stacked with many of the top 3 riders on the NBL ranking and there were some 99 moto's. Many Florida pro's made the journey too and it was fun seeing them race and do well. Walter has been training on his park bike all summer; this was the first time riding his race bike and being on the track since end of May. He said his bike felt funny at first because the set up was a lot different from his park bike but within minutes you could see he looked comfortable again. He was second in pre-race and on Sat was 4thand Sunday pulled out great third passing riders on each turn to move up two places. What an exciting race to watch and everyone watching could not believe the passing he was doing. Even the announcer was yelling to watch the Revolution rider. Next stop for the team is going to last chance race in Atlanta Georgia and then off the Grands. Can't wait to see how many can go this year.

Traveling to Cape Coral for the finals was really exciting and might I say a whole lot of fun too.  Consensus was we all had blast. One of the highlights was our accommodations which was waterfront in Ft. Myers at the Best Western.  The whole team stayed together and we managed to have fun the whole weekend.   The kids fished on the dock and Jose caught a huge blue claw which the hotel offered to cook and we enjoyed eating.   Yummy!

The hotel was only 10 miles from track and Sat night we all ate together at the hotel crab house. Great food and silly parents makes a fun night while the kids either fished or swam in the pool.

On Sunday we all went to the awards ceremony and we were 5th overall on the money team standing.  Our team of 16 riders managed to qualify every rider with a top 15 finish. 50% of riders were in in the top 3 and 4 riders were number one in State.   Can we all say President's Cup in January? Way to go Revolution. 

I would like to thank all the riders and the parents for making this state season one of my favorites.   Our team is like one big family with an awesome group of riders.  I can't wait now to start preparing our National Team for the Grands in Kentucky Labor Day weekend.
